For as long as I can remember, I always carried stories with me long after I finished them. One of my favourite parts of watching a movie or playing a video game is analyzing every detail and really engaging with the story. My brother and I would stay up for hours deconstructing story beats of whatever we had finished that night. I’ve always wanted to write about my throughs and analyses, but that idea overwhelmed me. Now, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and share those thoughts on this blog!
My likes are vast, but my interest in monsters and creatures has been consistent. A creature is pretty simple to conceptualize, but I understand the idea of a monster can be broad; because of this, what I write about is always quite broad.
I love looking at the role of monsters in horror, but I also love observing how environments can transform people into monsters – metaphorically, not only physically. Who becomes the monster, and how are they created? What do these characters tell us, the viewer, about our world, if anything at all? We’ll see how everything unfolds here!
